Word of the Year: Honesty.

So for the past couple of weeks I have been blabbering on about NY resolutions, but lets be honest, I'll probably get through 2 of them then give up like the rest of the 9.5 out of 10 Americans--harsh? Yeah.  But I'm just being honest.  With all the talk about "NEW YEARS" That's something I have been giving a lot of thought about: HONESTY.
OOO--- Story about HONESTY: Last night was my first New Years Eve that did not consist of me falling asleep in my nice warm bed at 11pm and sleeping through the festivities... and HONESTLY I defiantly regretted it.  Instead my cousin convinced me to get dressed up and out with him and see what this "holiday" is all about.  After seeing what it was all about I can safely say for 20 years I never missed anything-- except a 40 something year old trying to get his groove on in 29 degree weather.  I think I'll make a mental note to not waste $1.99 panty hose and a gallon of gas on any event that last less than a second.-- well I i guess it wasn't that terrible, I got to see DAFT PUNK live on top of a roof: whose new album(soundtrack for Tron) just dropped :) FYI I'm not a huge techo person, but DAFT PUNK 98.7% of the time is pretty entertaining.

     Back to my point, wanting to be a part of that .5% population I made two large commitments.  Commitments that I can't back out of.  I signed up to run 2 relay races that are slightly over 200 miles.  Before you go and judge me as one of those "marathon race resolutions" people, I'd like to make it clear that running is and has been a big/hugeish part of my life.  So the difference?  Dependability.  No one wants to be the slow kid on the playground, and that certainly doesn't change when you become an adult.  So let's say I'm HONESTLY going to make an effort to not be the slow kid.

      But interestingly, I went up to my home in Indian Wells (Middle of no where AZ) and planned on staying for 2 days to spend time with my little sister and her family but we ended up adding another day to the journey because we got snowed in! Take a look!

After all was said and done, and my siblings and I came back to reality: Bills, School, Work, and Bickering Parents. But according to my Horoscope (via Yahoo) things will CHANGE- something I found quite entertaining:

Year 2011 Overview

Please SWEET BABY JESUS) Asking the deeper questions about what really makes you tick can open many wonderful doors(There are more?). Self-knowledge is power. When Jupiter, the planet of philosophy and expansive thinking enters your subconscious sector right around your birthday, you'll be blessed with amazing vision, renewed perspective and a series of Eureka moments and kismet meetings with amazing people(Midlife Crisis?). 2011 is the year for expanding your horizons, meeting kindred spirits and finally creating the community of your wildest dreams. Overall I hope this is true-- I want and am in dire need of seeing new places and meeting new people :).
